A softgel shell made without gelatine

Most cod liver oil softgels rely on a gelatine casing, but this one uses modified pea starch with glycerol and carrageenan instead. That makes it an option for pescatarians who want to avoid gelatine while still taking a fish oil. The formula is free from artificial colours, flavours and preservatives.

What a daily serving provides

Two softgels together supply 1241 mg of cod liver oil sourced from Iceland, a source of the omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA. Each serving also adds 1500 µg of vitamin A and 10 µg of vitamin D3, with alpha-tocopherol included as an antioxidant.

An alternative to the liquid

Swallowing a softgel avoids measuring out and tasting liquid cod liver oil. Horbäach states that a pack lasts up to two months at the recommended two a day, and the container measures roughly 6 x 6 x 11 cm. Packaging is being updated, so the design you receive may differ from the photos.
