Omega-3 from Antarctic krill
The oil in these capsules is extracted from Antarctic krill (Euphausia superba), small crustaceans rather than fish. The manufacturer states the krill is fully traceable and certified by the Marine Stewardship Council.
Why the oil is red
Krill oil naturally contains astaxanthin, a red carotenoid, which the manufacturer says helps keep the oil fresh and stable. The EPA and DHA omega-3s in krill oil are bound to phospholipids.
One capsule a day for a month
Each capsule contains 1000 mg of krill oil, and the box of 30 lasts a month at one a day. The capsule shell is bovine gelatine, with glycerol and sorbitol as humectants and a little ethyl vanillin flavouring. The box measures about 5 x 9 x 11.8 cm.
How to use
Take 1 capsule a day with water after food. Do not take on an empty stomach and do not chew; swallow whole.
