What are soft gel nail tips and how do they work?
Soft gel tips, such as Après Gel-X, are full-cover extensions made from flexible gel. Each tip is sized to your nail, applied with a gel adhesive and set under a UV or LED lamp, which is why lamps sit alongside them in this range. They give a salon-style shape and length at home. Follow the kit instructions closely, and remove by soaking rather than pulling to protect your natural nails.
How do I make press-on nails last?
Prep makes all the difference. Push back cuticles gently, lightly buff the nail surface and wipe with an alcohol prep pad so the nail is clean and dry. Choose a size for each finger that covers the nail without touching the skin. Use nail glue for longer wear or adhesive tabs for a few days. KISS press-ons come with what you need. Why use cuticle oil?
Cuticle oil keeps the skin around the nails soft and helps nails look glossy and neat, and it's especially useful if you wear gels or extensions, or wash your hands often. Massage a drop into each cuticle once or twice a day, ideally in the evening when it can sink in. Cuticle creams and balms do the same job in a richer texture that's handy to keep in a bag.
