Product details

A single-herb ingredient from the marshmallow plant

This pack holds the dried root of the marshmallow plant, an herbaceous perennial that often grows wild in damp areas. The root has a mildly sweet, earthy and slightly woody flavour and aroma, and the ingredients list is simply Althaea officinalis.

Organic and co-operative credentials

Frontier Co-op is member owned and has operated since 1976. The label marks this as USDA Organic, certified organic by QAI, non-irradiated and kosher. The 453 g (16 oz) pack is cut and sifted for brewing.

How to use

To make a tea, add 1 teaspoon of herb to 8 fl oz of water in a pot, cover and simmer for 15-30 minutes, then strain and serve immediately.

Before you choose

Take it with at least 250 ml (8 fl oz) of liquid, and take other medicines at least an hour before consuming it.
