A lemony herb for brewing
Lemon balm (Melissa officinalis L.) is a sweet, lemon-scented herb in the mint family. The dried leaf has a slightly lemony, herbaceous flavour with mint and herb undertones, which makes it a popular choice for a herbal tea.
Organic and carefully dried
Frontier Co-op states that the leaf is dried quickly at low light and temperature to keep its colour and aroma. The label lists the product as USDA Organic, certified organic by QAI, kosher and non-irradiated, and the origin is given as Bulgaria.
What comes in the pack
The bag holds 453 g (16 oz) of cut and sifted leaf. Frontier Co-op is member owned and has been operating since 1976.
How to use
To prepare as a tea, pour 8 oz of boiling water over 1 tablespoon of the herb. Cover and steep for 5 to 10 minutes, then strain and serve immediately.
