Whole dried flowers for tea and more

These are hand-picked, sun-dried Hibiscus sabdariffa flowers with a natural red colour and fruity flavour. The label lists them as a herbal supplement, and they are often used to make tea, as an ingredient in cosmetics and as a natural dye.

Adding colour to drinks

The deep red and purplish dried flowers give an attractive red tone to any tea blend they are added to. You can steep them hot or cold, on their own or with other herbs, or mix the tea with juice, lemonade or sparkling water.

How to use

To make tea, pour 8 oz (about 240 ml) of boiling water over 1 teaspoon of the dried flowers. Cover and steep for 3-5 minutes, then strain and serve straight away. It can be served hot or cold, alone or blended with other herbs, or mixed with juice such as cranberry, lemonade or sparkling water. The dried flowers can also be added to potpourri and decorative jars for their deep colour.
