Fish oil in a fish gelatin shell

NOW uses a fish gelatin softgel here, as an alternative to products made with bovine or porcine gelatin. The shell is made from tilapia and basa gelatin, while the oil itself comes from anchovies, sardines and tuna, so it is still a fish product.

Strength and pack size

Each softgel holds 1,000 mg of fish oil, labelled 180 EPA / 120 DHA. The manufacturer states the concentrate is molecularly distilled and tested for contaminants such as PCBs, dioxins, mercury and other heavy metals. At the suggested four softgels a day, the 200-softgel pack lasts about 50 days.

How to use

Take 2 softgels twice daily with food.

For adults only. Contains fish oil (anchovies, sardines, tuna) and fish gelatin. Natural colour variation may occur. Store in a cool, dry place after opening. US-market product: packaging and label wording may differ from UK versions. Food supplement. Do not exceed the recommended daily intake. Not a substitute for a varied diet. Keep out of reach of children. Consult a doctor before use if pregnant, breastfeeding, taking medication or under medical supervision.

Full ingredients

Other ingredients: Softgel capsule (fish gelatin, glycerin, water) and d-alpha tocopherol (from sunflower). Contains fish oil (anchovies, sardines, tuna) and fish gelatin (tilapia, basa). Not manufactured with yeast, wheat, gluten, soy, corn, milk, egg or shellfish or sesame ingredients. Produced in a GMP facility that processes other ingredients containing these allergens.
