Oral Essentials Whitening ToothpasteLumineux Oral Essentials Whitening Toothpaste Fluoride Free, Pack of 2

Dead Sea salt in place of charcoal

Lumineux chose Dead Sea salt rather than charcoal for this paste, explaining that charcoal is messy and hard to rinse from teeth and gums. The brand says the salt contains dozens of minerals and is easier to fit into a daily routine. The manufacturer states it is dentist formulated, and it is made in the USA.

Oils that do the stain work

Coconut oil, lemon peel oil and sage oil are used to help remove stains, while essential oils such as wintergreen, spearmint and peppermint freshen breath. The formula is vegan and leaves out peroxide, baking soda, preservatives and dyes.

Two tubes in the pack

You receive two tubes, with a combined weight of about 213 g. That gives you enough paste to follow the twice-daily routine for a good while before you need to reorder.

What whitening means here

Because the formula uses naturally derived ingredients rather than bleaching agents, Lumineux says results take longer to show. Allow around two weeks of twice-daily brushing, and expect gradual surface-stain care rather than a dramatic shade change.

How to use

Brush thoroughly after each meal, or at least twice a day, or as your dentist advises.

Before you choose

This toothpaste contains no fluoride, so it may not suit you if you want a fluoride paste. The listing gives only a partial ingredient list, so check the tube if you need to avoid a particular ingredient. US-market product: packaging and label wording may differ from UK versions.
