Charcoal and black seed oil in a fresh mint paste

Himalaya pairs charcoal powder from coconut shell with nigella sativa (black seed) oil in this toothpaste. The formula also lists xylitol, calcium carbonate and baking soda, with stevia for sweetness and lauryl glucoside from coconut oil for foaming. Mint essential oil gives a cool, clean taste.

What is left out

The manufacturer describes the paste as free from fluoride, SLS, carrageenan, gluten and triclosan, with no artificial colours or flavours. It is also described as vegan and never tested on animals.

Three tubes in the pack

You receive three 4.0 oz (113 g) tubes of the same formula, enough to keep a spare in the cupboard and one in a wash bag.

How to use

Wet your toothbrush and apply a pea-sized amount. Brush every surface of the teeth in circular motions for two minutes, then rinse thoroughly.

This toothpaste contains no fluoride, so ask your dentist if you are unsure whether it suits you. It is for external use only: do not swallow it, and keep it out of reach of children.
