An oil cleanser that turns to foam on damp skin

This Derma E cleanser starts out as an oil and emulsifies into a foam once it meets water, so a single step lifts makeup, dirt and oil. The base is built on sesame and castor seed oils with mild cleansing agents such as decyl glucoside and cocamidopropyl betaine, and the formula also lists sodium hyaluronate and squalane.

Vitamin C alongside fruit and seed oils

Derma E describes the vitamin C as stabilised, and the ingredient list shows both ascorbic acid and tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate. Oils from orange peel, sea buckthorn fruit, cotton seed and jojoba seed form part of the seven-oil blend the brand highlights, giving the cleanser a cushioned feel during massage rather than a stripped finish.

The cleanser is vegan, and the label states Leaping Bunny certified cruelty-free status. It holds 175 ml (6 fl oz), and the label says it is made in the USA with US and imported material.

How to use

Smooth onto damp skin so the oil emulsifies into a foam, then massage over the face to lift makeup, dirt and oil. Rinse off with warm water and pat the skin dry.
