Daily care for enamel and sensitivity

Sensodyne explains that acids in modern diets can soften the enamel surface over time, letting the duller dentin underneath show through. Pronamel Intensive Enamel Repair is formulated to help repair acid-weakened enamel and lock in minerals with twice-daily brushing, according to the brand. It also protects against cavities and is suitable for sensitive teeth.

Two actives working together

The US Drug Facts panel lists two active ingredients: potassium nitrate 5% for sensitivity and sodium fluoride 0.25% for cavity protection. The label says it builds increasing protection against painful sensitivity to cold, heat, acids, sweets or contact.

Extra Fresh flavour, compact tube

The Extra Fresh flavour gives a clean mint taste, and the tube holds 96.4 g (3.4 oz). It is meant for regular use in place of your usual toothpaste.

How to use

Adults and children aged 12 and over should put a strip of at least 1 inch (about 2.5 cm) on a soft-bristled toothbrush and brush thoroughly for at least one minute twice a day (morning and evening), and not more than three times a day, or as recommended by a dentist or doctor. Brush all sensitive areas. Minimise swallowing and spit out after brushing. For children under 12, consult a dentist or doctor.

This is a fluoride toothpaste with a US Drug Facts label. Sensitive teeth may indicate a serious problem needing prompt care by a dentist, so stop use and ask a dentist if the problem persists or worsens, or if pain or sensitivity continues after four weeks of use. Keep out of reach of children; if more than the amount used for brushing is swallowed, get medical help or contact a poison control centre right away. Do not store above 25°C (77°F). Active: Potassium nitrate 5%; Sodium fluoride 0.25% (0.15% w/v fluoride ion).

Inactive: Water, sorbitol, hydrated silica, glycerin, peg-8, sodium lactate, flavor, cocamidopropyl betaine, titanium dioxide, xanthan gum, sodium saccharin, pvm/ma copolymer, sodium hydroxide.
