This tool runs on air from a compressed gas cartridge such as CO2, an air compressor or a hand or bicycle pump, all sold separately. The air is used to break up and clear sediment from gas or electric water heater tanks.

A clear window lets you watch the flushing process as it happens, and the full-port design allows sediment to pass through. According to the manufacturer it was designed by a master plumber and comes with instructions and video tutorials.

Build and ratings

The body is ABS in black, clear and yellow, measuring 3 inches wide by 5.75 inches high, with a maximum pressure of 80 psi. The manufacturer states it is UL Verified (V699054) for heat and pressure.

How to use

Connect the tool to the water heater's drain valve and to your air source, then follow the supplied instructions to flush sediment out. Watch the clear window to see what is passing through.

Before you choose

The compressed gas cartridge, air compressor or pump is not included. Water heater fittings and connections differ between the US and UK, so check it suits your tank and plumbing before ordering. US-market product: packaging and label wording may differ from UK versions.
