A tacky base that holds make-up in place
Power Grip Primer has a deliberately sticky gel texture, so foundation and concealer have something to cling to for longer wear. This version adds 4% niacinamide, which e.l.f. includes to help even the look of skin tone and brighten dullness. It also contains sodium hyaluronate, glycerin and dragon fruit (Hylocereus undatus) extract.
Clear on every skin tone
The gel goes on completely clear, so it will not alter the shade of your base, and it leaves a dewy, glowing finish rather than a matte one. e.l.f. lists it as suitable for oily, normal, dry and combination skin. Pressing it in with your fingertips uses their warmth to help it melt into the skin.
Size and formula notes
The tube holds 0.811 fl oz. The brand states it is vegan, cruelty-free and Leaping Bunny certified, and that its products are made without phthalates, parabens, nonylphenol ethoxylates, triclosan and triclocarban.
How to use
Pat the primer evenly over the face with your fingertips before make-up, pressing it into the skin. Leave it to set for 30 seconds before applying make-up.
Before you choose
The finish is dewy, so if you prefer a fully matte base you may want to set it with powder. Avoid contact with the eyes; if contact occurs, rinse with plenty of water. It may contain Red 40 and Yellow 5 colourants. US-market product: packaging and label wording may differ from UK versions.
