Tree Hut's Bare shave oil starts as a gel and turns to oil as you work it over wet skin, giving the razor a smooth glide and leaving skin feeling hydrated both during shaving and after rinsing. It can take the place of shaving foam or gel in a bath or shower routine.

Oils and butters in the blend

The formula combines shea butter, vanilla and colloidal gold with four plant oils: argan, grapeseed, jojoba and sesame. The manufacturer describes it as paraben-free, phthalate-free, alcohol-free, formaldehyde-free, sulfate-free, vegan and cruelty-free, suitable for all skin types.

Scent and size

The fragrance is warm and creamy, with notes of vanilla, sandalwood and coconut cream. The 7.7 fl oz bottle measures about 4.45 x 4.45 x 20.32 cm and is made in the USA. Exfoliating with a scrub beforehand can give a closer shave, the brand suggests.

How to use

Apply the oil to wet skin and shave as usual. Rinse or wipe off any oil left on the skin afterwards.
