The calcium comes as dicalcium malate, in which one malic acid molecule binds two calcium molecules. Thorne states this makes the compound 29 percent calcium, against 19 percent for calcium citrate, so each capsule carries more elemental calcium.

The capsule is made from hypromellose derived from cellulose, with calcium laurate as an additional ingredient, and Thorne states the contents are certified by NSF, and the label says it is gluten free. At two capsules a day, a bottle of 120 lasts about 60 days. It is manufactured in the USA using US and imported ingredients.
