Thayers makes its witch hazel from a non-distilled extract of the shrub, soaked in water, which the brand compares to brewing a cup of tea. The result is an alcohol-free toner crafted from 98% naturally derived ingredients.

Aloe vera and glycerin for a smooth finish

Aloe vera is included to refresh and hydrate, while glycerin helps maintain the skin's moisture barrier. The manufacturer says the toner smooths skin texture, tightens the look of pores, balances pH and prepares skin to absorb moisturiser, and that it also works as a base before makeup.
