Herbal Style & Shine is meant for days when you want hair that feels soft and easier to manage. The manufacturer says it softens hair and helps keep frizz down, which makes it a useful daily styler for natural hair. It is part of the Taliah Waajid Kinky, Wavy, Natural range.

Works across several styles

Beyond everyday combing and brushing, the cream can be used when pressing hair, on new growth for locs and on sections before twisting. The brand places it as a styling step after its Berry Clean Shampoo and Easy Herbal Comb Out. For larger, looser curl patterns, the brand suggests its Soft & Curly product instead.

What is in the jar

The formula has a shea butter derived base with soybean oil, sage extract, green tea and vitamin E. Each jar holds 6 oz and measures roughly 7.62 x 10.16 x 12.7 cm.

How to use

For daily styling, rub a generous amount between your hands, apply to the hair, then comb, brush and style. For pressing, apply a small amount to each section, then use a warm comb or ceramic iron. For locs, apply a little to new growth and palm roll; for twists, apply a little to each parted section and twist.

Before you choose

It is designed for tight to medium curl patterns, so it may not be the right choice for loose curls. The formula contains fragrance. US-market product: packaging and label wording may differ from UK versions.
