Colostrum from the first milking

Symbiotics sources this colostrum from the first milking of cows that have not been treated with rBST, at USDA Grade A dairies. The manufacturer states the colostrum is laboratory tested for pesticides and antibiotics, and that minimum levels of components such as immunoglobulins are verified by testing. It is made in the USA using US colostrum.

A short list of added ingredients

Alongside the pasteurised cow colostrum, the only other ingredients listed are MCT oil and sunflower lecithin powder. Each 3 g serving provides 750 mg of immunoglobulins (IgG) and comes to around 10 calories, with 1 g of protein and 0.5 g of fat. The powder is labelled gluten free.

Keeping the tub

The small tub measures about 10.9 x 6 x 6 cm, so it fits easily into a kitchen cupboard. The powder is sold by weight rather than volume, so some settling in the tub is normal.

How to use

Stir one 3 g scoop (included) into water or a drink of your choice and take it on an empty stomach. The label allows up to six additional servings a day during athletic training and recovery, or at times of physical or environmental stress. Close the lid tightly and store in a cool, dry place below 24°C, away from heat.

Before you choose

This is a dairy-derived powder, so it is not suitable for anyone avoiding milk. It is produced in a facility that also processes soy, fish, shellfish, milk, peanuts, tree nuts, wheat, eggs and sesame. Each container is double sealed; do not use it if either seal is broken or missing.
