High Potency Betaine HCl with PepsinSolaray High Potency Betaine HCl with Pepsin, 250 VegCaps

Two stomach components in one capsule

This formula contains hydrochloric acid in the form of betaine HCl together with pepsin, an enzyme. Both occur naturally in the stomach, and the manufacturer describes the product as a digestive-health dietary supplement from a brand established in 1973.

A note on the pepsin

The pepsin is derived from pork, and Solaray says it can develop an off odour when exposed to heat and moisture. The company states that this is not a sign of spoilage. Keeping the bottle in a cool, dry place helps.

Capsules and bottle size

The capsules are vegetable cellulose VegCaps, and the bottle holds 250. They are taken with meals, and the label caps the amount at 12 capsules a day.

How to use

Use only as directed. Take 1 VegCap during each meal with a glass of water. Do not exceed 12 capsules per day.
