A temporary tightening layer

Plexaderm Rapid Reduction Serum uses silicate minerals derived from shale clay to form a thin, temporary tightening film on the skin. The brand says it is intended to visibly smooth the look of fine lines, under-eye bags and dark circles. It goes on clear and dries to a smooth, satin finish.

Where it can be used

Besides the under-eye area, it is intended for other areas such as smile lines and forehead lines. The pump dispenser releases a controlled amount, so a small dose is easy to measure.

What rapid means here

The serum takes about 10 minutes to set after application. The manufacturer states the effect is temporary, not permanent, and that results vary from person to person.

How to use

Wash and dry the area. Press the pump to release a small amount, about half the size of a pea, on to a fingertip. Apply a thin, even layer, keeping it away from the eyes, then leave it to set and dry for about 10 minutes.

Before you choose

Test a small amount on the inside of your arm and watch for 24 hours before using it on your face. Avoid contact with the eyes; if contact happens, flush gently with water. Stop using it if redness or irritation occurs, and keep it out of reach of children. US-market product: packaging and label wording may differ from UK versions.
