One groomer for chest, back and legs

The Philips Norelco Body Groomer 5000 is designed for the chest, arms, back, groin and legs. Its Triple Skin Protect system combines pearl-tipped blades, a hypoallergenic foil and a skin guard to help reduce nicks on sensitive areas. Being showerproof, it works wet or dry.

Trim or shave without swapping tools

One head trims and the other gives a close shave. Two adjustable combs and an intimate comb cover the trimming lengths, and the blades are self-sharpening. The manufacturer advises replacing the foil every 12 months with part BG2010/40.

Battery and what is supplied

The Li-Ion battery gives up to 100 minutes of use, and a 5-minute quick charge is available when you are short of time. The model is BG5490/50, and it comes with a USB charging cable but no wall adapter.

How to use

Charge the groomer, then fit the trimmer head with a comb for trimming, or use the shaver head for a close shave. Glide it over the skin dry or in the shower, then rinse the head clean after use.

Before you choose

Use the shaver head on dry hair before you shower. Keep the groomer away from water while it is charging, and follow the cleaning and care instructions. Used incorrectly, it can still cause cuts or skin irritation. As an electrical product supplied without a wall adapter, check it suits your power or charging setup.
