Taurine is a conditionally essential amino acid found in tissues throughout the body, especially the nervous system. This NOW Foods capsule provides 1,000 mg, twice the 500 mg in the brand's regular-strength taurine.

Plant-based capsule and certifications

The capsule is made from hypromellose (cellulose), with stearic acid and silicon dioxide as the other ingredients. The label lists the product as vegetarian and vegan, non-GMO, kosher and halal, and made and quality tested in the USA with globally sourced ingredients.
