Psyllium husk in 500 mg vegetarian capsules, supplied in a large 500-capsule bottle from NOW Foods.

Product details

A capsule alternative to loose psyllium husk

Psyllium husk is a soluble fibre ingredient that swells considerably when mixed with liquid, and NOW notes it can expand up to 50 times its initial volume. These capsules offer a way to take it without measuring out powder.

A large bottle of simple capsules

Each capsule contains 500 mg of psyllium husk and the bottle holds 500 of them, which suits regular use. The capsule shell is hypromellose, so the capsules are vegetarian and vegan, and NOW also lists the product as non-GMO Project Verified and kosher.

How to use

Take three capsules with a full 8 oz (about 240 ml) glass of liquid, two to three times a day.

Before you choose

This product must be taken with at least a full glass of liquid, as taking it without enough liquid may cause choking. Do not take it if you have difficulty swallowing. Adults only, and the label advises speaking to a physician if you are taking medication or have a medical condition. It may contain traces of sesame, and is made in a facility that processes other allergen-containing ingredients. Natural colour variation may occur. Store in a cool, dry place after opening. US-market product: packaging and label wording may differ from UK versions. Food supplement. Do not exceed the recommended daily intake. Not a substitute for a varied diet. Keep out of reach of children. Consult a doctor before use if pregnant, breastfeeding, taking medication or under medical supervision.
