A dropper-measured fish oil for infants

The bottle comes with a dropper, and the dose is worked out from your baby's weight using the chart on the label. It is added to food, breast milk or infant formula once a day, or as directed by your paediatrician.

What goes into the bottle

The oil is purified arctic cod liver oil, with vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol in olive oil), rosemary extract as a natural preservative and RRR-alpha tocopherol as an antioxidant. Nordic Naturals says the omega-3s are in triglyceride form and that the oil is made from wild-caught fish processed in Norway. How to use

For infants 0 to 12 months, measure the dose with the dropper by weight: 5-10 lb (2.3-4.5 kg), 1.0 ml; 11-20 lb (5-9 kg), 2.0 ml; 21-25 lb (9.5-11.3 kg), 3.0 ml; 26-30 lb (11.8-13.6 kg), 4.0 ml; 31-35 lb (14-15.9 kg), 5.0 ml. Add to food, breast milk or infant formula once daily, or as directed by your paediatrician. Clean the dropper thoroughly between uses, especially if it touches your baby's mouth. Store the bottle with its original cap in the refrigerator, and use within 3 months of opening.

Before you choose

Do not use if the tamper-evident seal is broken or missing. The label advises consulting a doctor before giving this to a baby who has a known medical condition or takes medication, including blood thinners. Fish oil product; the label lists no gluten, milk derivatives, wheat, soy or synthetic dyes. Food supplement. Do not exceed the recommended daily intake. Not a substitute for a varied diet.
