Product details
Cheesy-tasting yeast flakes for the kitchen
These nutritional yeast flakes are made from deactivated yeast, cultured on a mixture of beet molasses and corn sugar. The brand describes the flavour as cheesy, and the flakes are unfortified, so nothing is added to the yeast itself.
Label facts and pack size
A 15 g serving is listed at 60 calories, 8 g protein, 4 g fibre and 189 mg magnesium. The manufacturer describes the product as 100% natural, non-GMO, gluten free, vegan and kosher, and the large 850 g (30 oz) pack suits regular cooking use.
How to use
Sprinkle the flakes over popcorn, pasta or salads, or stir them into sauces, soups and gravies for a savoury, cheesy-tasting finish. Use in place of grated cheese as suits your recipe.
