Alongside its mineral base, this loose powder contains a sugar polymer that helps keep excess oil in check and a cotton extract that Etude includes to leave skin feeling soft and downy. It is aimed at people with oily skin who want a clear-looking, matte finish that does not clump.

Use it over skincare or makeup

The powder can go on after your basic skincare or over makeup, so it works both as a setting step and as a way to tone down shine on its own. Tap it only onto the areas that get oily rather than covering the whole face, which keeps the finish light.

What the formula leaves out

Etude states the powder is made without synthetic pigment, mineral oil, talc, animal-derived raw materials and artificial fragrance. The 4 g size is small enough to keep in a makeup bag. The ingredient list is built on silica and mica, with a blend of plant oils and extracts further down.

How to use

After your basic skincare or makeup, gently tap the powder onto areas with excess sebum.

Although it is made without artificial fragrance, the ingredient list includes several citrus and plant oils as well as limonene, which is worth noting if your skin reacts to essential oils.
