This serum belongs early in a routine, after cleansing and before cream or foundation. It has a milky texture that sinks in quickly and leaves a non-greasy finish, so it layers easily under other products. The soft pink colour comes from the vitamin B12 in the formula.

Five ingredients aimed at visible signs of ageing

CeraVe brings together hyaluronic acid, peptides, niacinamide, vitamin B12 and LHA to target the look of fine lines, firmness, smoothness, brightness and hydration. The brand says the formula hydrates for up to 72 hours. In a consumer study of 64 people using it twice a day, 95% agreed their overall skin appearance had improved after two weeks.

Ceramides at the core

Like the rest of the CeraVe range, it contains three essential ceramides (1, 3 and 6-II), plus what the brand calls patent-pending Ceramide Booster Technology to support the skin barrier. It is fragrance-free and non-comedogenic, and the manufacturer states it suits all skin types, including sensitive skin.

How to use

After cleansing and before moisturiser or make-up, smooth a few drops of the milky serum over the face and neck. Let it absorb, then follow with your usual cream.
