Gradual colour for the face and neck

This lotion contains dihydroxyacetone and erythrulose, and is designed for daily use so colour builds gradually rather than in one go. It can be used to build a golden tan from scratch or to extend a tan you already have, and it is massaged in like an everyday face lotion.

Hydrating as it tans

Bondi Sands describes a dual-action formula that moisturises the skin while the colour builds. Cocoa butter, shea butter and aloe leaf juice feature in the ingredients, and the brand states its products are Australian made, vegan, cruelty free and suitable for sensitive skin.

A travel-friendly size

The 50 ml (1.69 fl oz) bottle is compact enough for a wash bag, so you can keep up your colour while away from home.

How to use

Start with skin that is clean, dry, exfoliated and free of moisturiser. Massage the lotion evenly over the face and neck in circular movements, avoiding the eyes, and wait until skin is touch dry before dressing. Use daily to keep up your colour, and wash your hands after use.

Before you choose

This is a self-tan, not a sunscreen: it does not protect against sunburn, and repeated sun exposure of unprotected skin while tanning may increase the risk of skin ageing and skin damage. Carry out a patch test 24 hours before use and do not apply to damaged or inflamed skin; stop use if irritation, redness or itching occurs. Keep away from the eyes, and rinse well with plenty of clean water if contact occurs, seeking medical advice if irritation persists. If swallowed, get medical attention or contact a poison centre straight away. For external use only. Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
