Benzoyl peroxide is one of the most established acne actives, and the US offers it in more formats and strengths than anywhere else. Choose from gentle 2.5% and 4% washes to 10% spot gels, cleansing bars and creams. Start low if you’re new to it, and remember it can bleach fabrics.
