Leave-on support for managing acne

An aqueous gel lets you apply benzoyl peroxide across the affected area without adding another rinse-off step. The active ingredient helps reduce bacteria associated with acne and improve existing spots. The gel format spreads easily, making it practical to apply the thin layer described in the directions rather than a thick coating.

Choosing a leave-on treatment

This gel is applied after cleansing and left on the affected skin. It is different from a benzoyl-peroxide wash. The aqueous formula includes glycerin and dimethicone, but can still cause dryness. This is the stronger of Perrigo’s 5% and 10% gels. Higher strength is not automatically a better fit, particularly for easily irritated skin.

How to use

New users should test sparingly on one or two small affected areas for the first three days. If comfortable, cleanse thoroughly and apply a thin layer to the affected area once daily. Increase gradually to two or three times daily only if needed. Reduce to once daily or every other day if dryness or peeling develops.

Before you use it

For external use only. Do not use on very sensitive skin or if sensitive to benzoyl peroxide. Avoid eyes, lips, mouth, hair and coloured fabrics; bleaching can occur. Other acne medicines can increase irritation, so use only one at a time if this happens. Stop if irritation is severe.

Limit sun exposure and apply sunscreen when outdoors. If using sunscreen causes irritation or sensitivity, stop both products. Keep out of reach of children. Store at 20–25°C.

Inactive ingredients: Carbomer Homopolymer, Dimethicone, Disodium Lauryl Sulfosuccinate, Edetate Disodium, Glycerin, Methylparaben, Poloxamer 182, Purified Water, Silicon Dioxide, Sodium Hydroxide.
