Acne treatment in a solid cleansing format
A benzoyl peroxide bar makes treatment part of your cleansing step, combining removal of surface build-up with an active that targets acne-causing bacteria. The solid format can be useful if you prefer a lathering bar to a bottle or tube. Work up lather and spread it gently instead of rubbing the bar firmly against blemishes.
A solid wash-off treatment
The bar is used to create a lather for affected areas of the face or body. It is an alternative format to a liquid acne wash, not a leave-on cream. Rinse it off fully rather than leaving a layer on the skin.
How to use
Clean the skin, work the bar into a lather and spread a thin layer over the affected area. Rinse thoroughly and pat dry. Start once daily; increase gradually to two or three times daily only if needed. Reduce to once daily or every other day if dryness or peeling becomes troublesome.
Important precautions
For external use only. Do not use on very sensitive skin or if sensitive to benzoyl peroxide. Avoid eyes, lips and mouth, and keep away from hair and coloured fabrics because it can bleach them.
Other topical acne medicines may increase irritation; if this occurs, use only one at a time. Avoid unnecessary sun exposure and use sunscreen. If sensitivity develops after combining with sunscreen, stop both products. Stop if irritation is severe. Keep away from children.
Storage
The manufacturer specifies storage at 20°C to 25°C. Let the bar drain between washes.
