DermaHarmony combines sulfur and salicylic acid in this medicated bar for symptoms associated with dandruff, seborrhoeic dermatitis and psoriasis. Salicylic acid helps lift accumulated dead skin, while the wash-off format brings treatment into cleansing. It is the stated 5% sulfur and 2% salicylic acid formula, distinct from the separate 3.7 oz cleansing bar.

Choosing the right bar

This 4 oz formula is labelled for itching, flaking and irritation associated with dandruff, seborrhoeic dermatitis and psoriasis. It is different from DermaHarmony’s 3.7 oz cleansing-only soap and its peppermint shampoo bar. Sulfur has a natural smell even without added fragrance.

How to use

Wet the affected skin with warm water, work up a lather and massage gently. Leave in contact for 60–90 seconds, then rinse thoroughly. The manufacturer recommends regular use at least twice weekly. Begin on a small area and reduce frequency if dryness or peeling occurs.

Before you use it

For external use only. Avoid broken skin and contact with eyes; rinse well with water if contact occurs. Stop if irritation is severe, the condition worsens or it does not improve with use as directed. Keep out of reach of children.

Remove silver jewellery before washing, as sulfur can tarnish it. Keep the bar on a draining soap dish so it dries between uses.
