Cortizone 10 combines 1% hydrocortisone with a lotion base for temporary relief of eczema-related itching and minor irritation. The moisturising texture helps address the dry feel that can accompany a flare-up, bringing itch treatment and skin comfort into one application. This is a short-term medicated treatment, not a substitute for your regular emollient routine.
Choosing this lotion
Hydrocortisone is a mild steroid medicine, not an everyday moisturiser. This lotion combines it with moisturising ingredients including glycerin, petrolatum and dimethicone.
How to use
The US pack limits application to no more than three or four times daily. UK NHS guidance advises that children under 10 should only use hydrocortisone when a pharmacist recommends it.
Important precautions
For external use only. Do not use for nappy rash, on cuts or wounds, or near the eyes. Ask a pharmacist before use on the face or genital area, during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Do not cover treated skin with a dressing. Keep treated clothing and bedding away from flames.
Stop if symptoms worsen, last over seven days or return within a few days. Do not switch to another hydrocortisone product without advice. Keep away from children.
